Back in 2010, we started with one baker, four baristas, and a mission – to give our hometown a great bakery, and make the greatest products we possibly could. We wanted to attach Hartford’s name to something superlative and create something the community would be proud of. A few years later, with a good dose of hard work and a little luck, we’ve grown to over 30 employees and deliver to restaurants and grocery stores in all corners of the state.
Our philosophy is simple: we use the finest flours, quality butter, and European chocolates we can get our hands on. During the growing season, the selection in our pastry case is determined not by our bakers, but by the local farms we partner with for their amazing fruits and vegetables.
In an industry obsessed with convenience and speed, we decided to go the other direction. Unbleached flours and preservative-free ingredients are essential to our values and we pride ourselves on doing things the hard way – valuing taste, texture, and process above all else.
We are both proud and humbled that we are quickly becoming Connecticut’s bakery producer of choice and thank all of our customers who have made this success story possible.
