February is a busy month at Hartford Baking Company! The Big Game (you know the one we’re talking about) means lots of specialty products: game-ready dips (Buffalo Chicken, Spinach Artichoke, and Dill) served in fresh sourdough bread bowls, in addition to 2-foot full-baguette heroes for the perfect sandwich. Order sandwiches by Saturday, February 5th for pick up Sunday, February 6th – the dips may be purchased by walk in customers with no need to pre-order until they sell out (although pre-order is encouraged as limited quantities are available). Specialty sandwich orders can be picked up from the New Park Cafe (625 New Park Ave) and placed in person at either location or by calling: 860-481-7876.

Hot Chocolate Month will also return for the second year in a row this February! Last year included a weekly rotation of decadent hot chocolates (chocolate melted in cream: not to be confused with hot cocoa), including flavors such as horchata, tres leches, and white chocolate. This year’s line up launches Thursday, January 31st, for Hot Chocolate Day, with a Peppermint Hot Chocolate. The remaining line up will be announced as the month progresses, but we hear a Unicorn Hot Chocolate, featuring white chocolate and edible glitter, is in development.

Last, but not least: join us with your tiny friends on Thursday, February 7th, at the West Hartford Center cafe (965 Farmington Avenue) from 3-5 pm for FREE drop in arts and crafts! We will be making a Valentine’s-themed craft and offering free cookie samples for kids – and of course, our specialty coffee drinks AND hot chocolate will be available for purchase by the adults. No need to RSVP – just come down and enjoy the fun.
